…there’s been a great community of music lovers at the Cabooze for decades…We hope to preserve it and help grow it through our music.

Local band, SOAP announces their new weekly residency at legendary music venue, The Cabooze beginning January 19. The “Wednesday Wash” residency will serve as a launch pad for the band’s fourth studio record release due out in February and the supporting music tour that will follow.

Like the band name, SOAP’s music is undoubtedly fresh. With influences ranging from jazz, blues and funk to progressive, psychadelic, electronica, SOAP skilfully fuses all of these genres into one – danceable rock.

The band’s roots stretch back to childhood when cousins Erich Krapf, guitarist and Skyler Krapf, keyboardist met Ross Taylor, bassist in {Peotone, Illinois}. For years the young group experimented with their sound until 2007 when SOAP moved to the music Mecca of the Midwest, Minneapolis where they met drummer, Austin Lee.

With a loyal following, three studio albums under their belts and one on the way, SOAP has now inherited the Cabooze’s coveted weekly residency, which has been a long-standing tradition within the local music scene. Following the likes of The Big Wu and God Johnson, SOAP hopes not only to continue that tradition, but expand on it.
